Vorig jaar keken de jongens ademloos naar de beelden van Monster Jam als dat zo nu en dan voorbij kwam op Jetix. Toen ik zag dat het dit jaar weer werd georganiseerd, in het Gelredome in Arnhem, heb ik snel drie kaarten besteld. Niet alleen voor het evenement zelf, maar ook voor de Pit Party die eraan vooraf gaat, waarbij je door het Gelredome mag lopen en alle Monster Trucks mag bekijken, aanraken en fotograferen én de drivers ontmoet! Pas op 27 September gaan we, Frank, Rob en ik, maar ik zing het zo superleuk, ik ben er helemaal hyper van :-)
Ik wilde het eigenlijk geheim houden en het ze pas vertellen als we het stadion binnenlopen. Ik zag die snuitjes al helemaal voor me.
En dat probeerde ik ook heus wel. Echt. Heus.
Maar ik ben een ongelofelijke kleuter als het gaat om leuke verrassingen, en ik vind het zelf ook Zo OnTzEtTeNd CoOl dat ik me niet kon inhouden.
Nu zijn we met z'n drieën hyper :-)
Last year the boys were in awe every time they caught a glimpse of Monster Jam when it was shown on Jetix (a cartoon channel over here). When I saw it was organized again this year, I instantly got three tickets for Frank, Rob and me. Not only for the event itself, but also for the Pit Party beforehand, where you get to walk through the stadium and get to see and touch and photograph all the monster trucks, and you get to meet the drivers. This whole thing is not until September, but man, totally hyper :-)
I really wanted to keep this a secret and not tell them until we would be enter the actual dome. Can you even imagine what their faces would look like?
So I tried. No really, I tried.
But I am such a big baby when it comes to keeping fun suprised a secret and the whole thing will just be So VeRy CoOl, and I just couldn't resist.
Now the three of us are hyper :-p

Fransie, I never would have pegged you for a monster truck lover!
We have a monster truck that lives on our backyard. It's the "Screamin Deamon". Google it and you'll see a picture of it. I can probably ask the owner, a good friend of ours, to sign pictures for your boys, if you'd like. I'd be happy to send them to you. I doubt you'll ever see it in Holland, but it's a pretty popular truck here in the US; even has its own Hot Wheel!

Laura, you know me well, because monster trucks aren't normally my thing, hehe, and truth be told, we haven't ever done anything quite like this with them.
P so wanted to take them, as well, but that's just it: with the little girl around, it's so easy to fall into that trap of him doing all the boy things, and me doing all the girl things. But this was my idea, so I wanted to take them myself. He does enough with them; he takes them fishing, biking, all that man stuff.
Anyway. I totally can't wait :-)
Juist goed dat je het hebt verteld. Nu heeft hij er al een 1/2 jaar voorpret van! Dat is op zich al hartstikke leuk.
Dit is zo gaaf!!!! 2 jaar geleden ging ik met veel tegenzin heen vanwege herrie en stank maar bij de eerste aanblik was ik verkocht en wilde er het liefst zelf mee wegrijden (reed nl al op m'n 18e zware vracht in havengebieden en vond dat het einde!!!!) en zou altijd nog wel eens een grote vrachtwagen of bus willen besturen ;)
Als het over een paar jaar weer in de buurt is, gaan we zeker weer!
