Oh, dat voel je helemaal in je ruggegraat.
Ik was een grote Whitney-fan, toen ik een jaar of dertien, 14 was. Wat een stem. Wat een uiterlijk. Ik vond haar prachtig - zij was mijn eigen persoonlijk tiener-definitie van uiterlijke schoonheid.
Het is ongelofelijk, wat een aantal verkeerde keuzes in het leven kunnen doen met iemand. Crack gebruik. Een slopend huwelijk - letterlijk.
Een tragisch leven. Ooit mijn grote idool... blijkbaar is het echt waar, wat ze zeggen: als je geen lichtend voorbeeld kunt zijn, dan maar een vreselijke waarschuwing.
One of the CD's in my car stereo is The Preachers Wife soundtrack. It's Whitney Houstan, and some big ass gospel choir. Technically it's a Christmas CD, but I play it all year long. When I need some inspiration. When I need some energy. It's so very uplifting. Half an hour of it, and I get to the office all re-charged. It's music you have to play LOUD. When the choir starts, in the beginning of track two:

Oh, you can feel those voices all the way in your spine.
I was a big Whitney-fan when I was 13, 14 years old. That voice. Her looks. She was my personal teenage definition of what outer beauty was supposed to be.
That makes it all the more tragic to see what she's done to herself. Crack use, a very violent marriage...
Man.
I guess it's true what they say: if you can't be a shining example, at least be a horrible warning.

Jeetje zeg, is dat Whitney? Hemeltje lief.... dat is erg..... Ik vond haar muziek ook altijd geweldig, moet maar aan haar oude uiterlijk denken geloof ik........
gelukkig ziet mijn tieneridool er nog steeds retestrak uit!
Whitney....echt zielig... en maar vol blijven houden dat je ECHT niet aan de drugs bent :(

Ja, dat is helaas een heel eng mens geworden om te zien. Maar zingen kan ze.
Ja zo jammer is dat. Dat doet die crack. Het zijn sterke benen die de weelde kunnen dragen!
Wow, she's looking pretty rough around the edges these days. I realize there's a huge difference between a nice Photoshopped studio shot and random candids, but regardless, it's sad that her life has gone the way it has.
OMG - you'd never belive that was the same person - what a shame, she used to be so beautiful!
